I was watching the deer fight for pride with their antlers in the forest. I could feel the gnash of bone and raw power in the air. One deer suddenly stops and the match is over. The deer are deciding who has the right to this land. They can tell who is the strongest, fastest, and most agile among them. To me it is hard to see but to them it is obvious.
I was playing with my dog Dezi today and he is very strong and fast. His muscles are thick and full of sinew. While sparring I fell into a zone of concentration. I could anticipate his every move. I could almost touch him without contact. There is no possible way he could harm me even if he wanted to. He just stopped and stood there just like the deer. I tried to keep going but he would not. He was not tired he simply submitted that I could not be beaten by him at this time. Nor was he angry, in fact, he was satisfied that he had a strong leader to follow. That my friends is how conflict and leadership is determined with peace not death. To think my stray dog Dezi taught me this. Boy do I have a lot to learn before we get this place going again.
