The Real New Deal

When our country started out the forefathers did the best they could to set us up for success. They could not possibly foresee the path our country has taken over the years. With that said, they, like us, made some mistakes. How we handle those mistakes are the key to ensuring our future as a world leader in the pursuit of happiness and what is known as the "American Dream". Basically what I am saying is we need to admit we made a mistake and fix it the best we can so that everyone involved can move forward.
Our forefathers did not believe as we do today that slavery was a sin and wrong from any standpoint. When we realized our mistake we attempted to correct it and make up for our wrongs the best way we knew how. Well as we say "hind sight is 20/20". We screwed up in a big way.
Back during the time when men worked hard for their employers and employers worked hard for their people things were as they should be. We always had a scar on our nation over slavery. We knew it was wrong, but no one had any idea how to fix it. We opted to act out of shame and guilt. We gave people something they did not earn to make up for the wrongs we had done to them. While it seemed good to both parties at the time is was disaster in the making. One cannot fully understand the value of a possession without earning it themselves. It is like when well to do parents give their newly of aged teenager a very expensive car and expect them to drive it responsibly and take good care of that over-priced car. Most of us know from experience that this is not the case. You can only truly understand what you create; not what is given to you or taken from others. Only then can you understand the blood, sweat, and tears that went into building anything worth having. Just ask the Amish. They can tell you a thing or two about that. When it is time, all things needed are created by God through men and are to be used by all mankind to further our species together as one to explore our universe and display the true nature of man. Surely God or any other species for that matter, cannot allow us to encroach on other faraway lands when we simply destroy ourselves over and over again. I say enough is enough. Let’s call it what it is and stop hiding behind false promises and old wounds. Together we can heal our past and right our wrongs. Together we will overcome the evil that is facing us today. Only together will we prevail (and in this I mean the entire world not just the U.S.)… I challenge anyone reading this to get off your back sides and own up to your transgressions. Own your cultures and celebrate our differences like well portioned spices in a fine meal. Do not listen to the propaganda filling our ears everyday with the energy God gave us being used to spread this tragedy. Only then can we return to the course we left that was started by our great founders. People of the earth it is time to stand up and take your place as the brightest species earth has to offer the universe for if we cannot I assure you God, Allah, Buddha or Mother Nature, whatever you want to call it, will wipe us clean and try again. The people that need this knowledge already possess it and will come together in due time to allow us to proceed to the next step but first we must do has God has always asked and atone for our sins against one another and against Him. Trust me I know because he made me write this.

Death Penalty Advice.

The Hard Ball. Death as a Deterrent.

My views on the death penalty are deep seated and hard to discuss. First I will give you a little background information about myself in order to lend some credibility my direction. I am sorry to share this with you but it happened and is necessary to discuss this topic. In 1993 my ex-wife Cynthia, daughter Tonya, who was five and son Timothy, who was three, were shot in the head and face then subsequently buried just beyond the tree line of a small field in Piedmont, Oklahoma. I will provide links after the article if you are interested in the details. The point of this writing is to divulge my actions to this event and determine the course I should take in the future, for you see; the man that committed this act is still alive as you read this.

The Canadian County prosecutor Kathy Stalker asked me to testify on the stand that I wanted the death penalty to be given to Michael Hooper for the murder of my children. Now previous to this I had never really thought about how I felt about the death penalty and most likely gave the answer most men do when questioned about it. “I’d kill the son of a bitch myself if they would let me”. Well that sounds good until the cards are on the table. I suppose this is why I call it the “hard ball” you better catch the dammed thing because if it hits you it will leave a lasting mark. Anyway, on one hand I was angry and wanted revenge on the other I believe killing is wrong and a sin in the eyes of God unless it is to protect yourself or someone else. If you get down to it there are some animals I would protect with deadly force in I needed to, so I have some serious convictions in this regard. In other words I believe murder is wrong and killing may be necessary for survival; that is a debate unto itself that we may explore at a later time. I simply want you to understand my beliefs I am not questioning yours. I had a decision to make and the prosecutors as well as the news were waiting to see what I would say. I said “I just don’t want anyone else to die”. Needless to say the prosecutor did not have me testify and the news did not get their sensational reaction. I was subdued, hurt, and very confused but I did know one thing, death was not the answer to my problem so I made my choice.
Looking back there was a time when I regretted that choice immensely. I thought I had been a coward and would not stand up for what is right. Well guess what I made the right choice. I was not a coward quite the opposite I stood up to every authority figure you could imagine and spoke what I believed was truth. I wanted no unnecessary death. Was that wrong? I think not. The man will never see the light of day. I have met Michael before this happened and I intimidated him not vice versa. (Cindy needed help getting her clothes from their apartment and I made sure he behaved.) So he is not a huge menacing threat in prison and he will never be released. I am satisfied with that. While I can never understand why he did what he did I do feel compassion for him and his family and I forgive their transgressions. God will deal with him. On a side note I would like to ask talk to him face to face and give him the opportunity to tell me what happened and let him know I forgive him. Maybe he will ask God for forgiveness and I could save a soul. I would like that.

It seems that after all this that I now have a dilemma. I have been told that Cindy’s parents forgive him as well I do not know for sure it is only hearsay. With that said if I publicly forgive him it may save his life. So should I or should I leave it alone? I would like some real input on this from the readers. Please no emotional titrates about right and wrong I have told you what I believe is right and you will not change my mind trust me. I need help in determining if it is right to address this now that I am sure of what I want and why, in light of the impact it may have on others. If I thought it could harm another person I would never do it because the only real change could be his life being spared and my feeling better about how I handled the situation. Is this a selfish act or a just act because I believe that killing him is simply a form of revenge and not the extermination of a truly evil being? That is one hell of a question is it not.

And lastly there is one other not so small consideration to weight in this matter. A very close friend of mine and Tonya’s as well is in general population in the same prison. I do not think they know it and I have not discussed this with anyone of relevance, however it is true. I will not divulge my friends name in this article as he does not need the attention I’m sure, but it is safe to say that Mr. Hooper would most likely not have a very enjoyable or lengthy sentence commute.

Any thoughts or comments can be replied to the posts of this article. I will put it in various places around the net. You may also email me direct at jimjarman68@live.com. My other writings can be viewed at http://hubpages.com/profile/jjarman. I hope you enjoy. And as I promised here is a link that has some details on the case although it is not the actual case. http://www.docstoc.com/docs/16105020/Hooper-vs-Gibson-%2801-6238%29

The Question?

Question: Why are we here?
Answer: To Create!

It is fun to create. When humans create they are filled with love. Evey human on this earth has the capacity to create and therefore the capacity to love. It's that simple.

Silicon and its Future

For some reason Silicon seems to me to be the next carbon. I cannot wait to get to a university lab to study the properties of silicon in liquid form. I was derailed from study before at the University of Oklahoma due to life issues and I never got to work the silicon but I will this time. It is the most beautiful substance I have ever seen. I realize that there are many great minds that have studied silicon before me; however, none have possessed my unique perception of things. We will make great things when we realize that religion and science are not separate. They are one. Both are correct. As well the many religions of the world are correct. They are but a different way to view the same thing, the same God. How would anyone expect people to develop in different regions of the world and not come up with their own ways to view creation? That is what we do with everything else. If we open a restaurant chain in the U.S. and simultaneously open one in Russia. Do you think we will come up with the same operations manuals at each company by the time the two entities meet and must prepare to compete? No we will each have different ways of achieving the same result. This is the confusion with our various religions. None are wrong just different. It is just that simple. Man seems to over complicate things don't we. I do not know if anyone is reading this but surely someone out there agrees that our current state is absurd. I would like anyone reading this to contact me as long as they understand my message. If this angers you please do not contact me these writings were not meant for you and you will not understand me. For those of you that do my name is James Robert Jarman and I live in Cookeville Tennessee. I would leave my phone number but I recently had to lower my cell plan for financial reasons so please email me at quasarcomputing@live.com.

Night all.

What a dog taught me today.

I was watching the deer fight for pride with their antlers in the forest. I could feel the gnash of bone and raw power in the air. One deer suddenly stops and the match is over. The deer are deciding who has the right to this land. They can tell who is the strongest, fastest, and most agile among them.  To me it is hard to see but to them it is obvious.
I was playing with my dog Dezi today and he is very strong and fast. His muscles are thick and full of sinew.  While sparring I fell into a zone of concentration. I could anticipate his every move. I could almost touch him without contact. There is no possible way he could harm me even if he wanted to. He just stopped and stood there just like the deer. I tried to keep going but he would not. He was not tired he simply submitted that I could not be beaten by him at this time. Nor was he angry, in fact, he was satisfied that he had a strong leader to follow. That my friends is how conflict and leadership is determined with peace not death. To think my stray dog Dezi taught me this. Boy do I have a lot to learn before we get this place going again.
